The book has got three stories.

The Lady or the Tiger

Many, many, years ago there was a king in a far country. But in his country he had many wrongdoers. So he wanted to build a big stadium in the city center. Then the king made the wrongdoers choose one door of two doors in the stadium. If the wrongdoer opens the wrong door, he finds a tiger. It jumps out and kills him. If he opens the other door, he finds a beautiful young woman. She is to be his wife. But the princess was together with the gardener. The king was very angry. In the end the king needed the gardener to choose one door. One is to die, and other one is another lady. The princess can help her lover, but what will she choose to do? The issue you need to think about yourself.

Miss Bracegirdle's Night of Fear

The story is about an innocent abroad. A middle-aged English woman arrives in a small hotel in South-West France. After taking a nice hot bath, she goes into the wrong bedroom and gets locked in. She can't escape from the room. At that moment, she sees a man on the bed asleep. She doesn't know what she should do. She feels very worried because if she wakes the man, people will know she was with the man in one room. What will people think about her? Will the man do something to her? She stays under the bed until morning, and finds that the man is dead. She kepst cool to find a way of opening the door. She goes back to her room and sleeps. I don't know what message of this story is.

The Waxwork

A young reporter writes stories for newspapers. He has an idea for a story. He uses a night to stay in the murderers’ room at a waxworks museum. In the end he was dead. I think the terrible power of the imagination killed him.

Simply Suspense is a good book. The suspense is not hard. And the 3 stories aren't clear, and give lots to imagine for the reader. I hope other students read it.
