I read Helping the Hoiho by Dean Schneider. This book is good. This book is written about yellow eyed penguins in New Zealand. The main character is a 'hoiho' (a yellow eyed penguin) who has two eggs between mid-September and mid-October. There is always one parent keeping an eye on the chicks. He is very busy after his two children are born because he must go out to sea in search of food for his children and him. His two baby penguins are very cute, so I want to go to watch the yellow eyed penguins.
I think the best thing about this book is that I learnt a penguin's old feathers turn to new feathers when a baby penguin becomes an adult penguin. As the book is too short a story, I want to know more about penguins. This book was just the right level for me. I want other students to read this book, because if they read the book, I think they will come to like New Zealand more because of the yellow eyed penguins.
it was nice story Keita
